Mary in a Martha world

[The Glory Unveiled]

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” [ Luke 10:41-42 NIV ]

We live in a “Martha world.” A world where hearts are pulled in a thousand directions, and minds are weighed down with endless concerns. The system of this world is built in such a way that those who serve it can never truly rest, never be fully satisfied. It keeps taking and demanding, pushing people into a constant cycle of “robbing Peter to pay Paul.”So many are running—chasing dreams, juggling jobs, trying one thing after another just to find what fits. Yet no matter how much they gather, save, or store up, it always seems as though the world requires more than they can offer. And so life becomes an exhausting loop of struggle, anxiety, and quiet despair. But when Jesus visited the home of Mary and Martha, something powerful unfolded. Mary chose to sit at His feet, drinking in the words of life—the very words that answer both the needs we know and the ones we cannot even name. Martha, in her sincere desire to serve, rushed around making preparations, anxious to make Jesus and the other guests comfortable. Hospitality is good; service is good. But even good things lose their place when the Best thing is present. When Jesus steps into your home, your heart, or your situation, the highest privilege is simply to listen. Yet today, many receive rare moments of fellowship with God—precious chances to draw near—and then trivialise them, distracted by the noise of life and the demands of the world. They miss the blessing wrapped within the moment. Beloved, do not let your heart be swallowed up by worry or overwhelmed by the pressures around you. God saw every challenge you would face, every concern that would weigh on your spirit, and He permitted none of them without already providing His grace. So in a Martha world of worry and despair, choose the posture of Mary. Choose to sit. Choose to listen. Choose Jesus above the noise. Be a Mary in this Martha world.

Prayer_Bead: Mighty God, thank you for the privilege to always listen at your feet. Guide me through this Martha world to be content with you.

Wisdom_Quote: In a world like this, you don’t need to do much, just be a Mary and listen to Jesus.

Find Him

[The Glory Unveiled]

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” [ John 1:45 NIV ]

Everyone on earth is pursuing something. Some chase success, others security; some pursue purpose, others pleasure. But for the believer, in all our pursuits, one truth must remain unshaken: in seeking God, we must pursue Jesus Himself—not merely His gifts, His miracles, or His ministry. Scripture shows us that there were many who followed Jesus daily, yet their motives were not anchored in love for His word or hunger for the revelation of God. They followed because of what they could receivefrom Him. Jesus Himself said that the crowds pursued Him not because of the “words of life,” but because He had filled their stomachs with multiplied bread and fish (John 6:26). They chased the blessing but not the Blesser; the miracle but not the Miracle Worker. But before Jesus came to the scene, the Scribes and Pharisees searched the Scriptures diligently for Him. They knew every prophecy concerning the coming Messiah. They had studied the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings that pointed to Him. So when Philip found Jesus, he immediately recognized Him—not by chance, but because generations had been waiting and longing for the One who would come in the likeness described by the prophets. And when he did, he didn’t chase after His gifts or miracles but His person. And so, he could not keep the news to himself. He ran to tell Nathanael, because when we encounter the truth, when we meet the Saviour, something in us is compelled to share Him. Revelation becomes proclamation. Beloved, someone needs to know that you have found the Lover and Saviour of your soul. The world is hungry, searching, wandering. And as Scripture says, “All men seek for Him” (Mark 1:37).

Help them find the One your heart has discovered. Lead them to Jesus—not just His gifts, but His person, His presence, His life.

Prayer_Bead: Father and King, thank you for the gift of your Son Jesus Christ. Help me to tell others about His love and salvation.

Wisdom_Quote: If you truly find Jesus, you will be compelled to tell others.

A world at will

[The Glory Unveiled ]

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” [ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬ ]

In our world today, it has become far easier to imitate what already exists than to create something fresh and genuine. That is why we see so many copycats—people who would rather mimic others than walk in true authenticity. Plagiarism rises in every field, and originality is slowly becoming extinct because the path of imitation feels easier than the path of creation. But this cultural shift has a deeper spiritual consequence: it becomes harder and harder to discern the will of God for our lives as unique, divinely crafted individuals. The real problem is that, by default, we imitate whatever surrounds us because our inner programming has been shaped by the world. We mirror what we see, often without even noticing. To truly discern God’s will, that inward programming must be changed. Our minds must be transformed, not by self-effort, but by the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. We must let go of the world’s curriculum and allow the Spirit to reform our thinking through the power of God’s Word. Remember this: although you live in this world, you do not belong to it. Your lifestyle, your values, your decisions must reflect the culture of your true home—and its constitution is the Word of God. So stop imitating the patterns of this world. Instead, imitate the Word. Let your life echo heaven, not the noise around you.

Prayer_Bead: Creator of the Universe, thank you for the culture of heaven that you daily impress upon me through your word. I live as a citizen of heaven and not earth.

Wisdom_Quote: We are a mirror reflection of our influence.

Consistent dose of God’s word.

[The Glory Unveiled]

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful[ Joshua 1:8 NIV ]

There are things we do almost without thinking—habits performed so often that they have become automatic. And then there are other things we cannot do impulsively because our minds have not been trained through repetition to respond that way. But here is the good news: the human mind can be trained to do almost anything, to a remarkable—even astonishing—degree. This is precisely why God instructed the Israelites, through Joshua, to keep His Word always on their lips and to meditate on it day and night. Imagine what would happen if God’s Word continually shaped the conversations of your mouth and the meditations of your heart. Over time, your mind would grow deeply familiar with Scripture. And when the mind becomes saturated with the Word, obedience begins to flow naturally—almost automatically. As the mind embraces the Word, the body aligns with it. Action follows meditation. And then the Scripture declares, “you will prosper and have good success.” Prosperity and success come after the mind has been flooded—again and again—with the Word of God until our lives begin to mirror what it says. So keep God’s Word on your lips—daily, intentionally, relentlessly. Let it shape your thoughts until it shapes your life.

Prayer_Bead: Mighty God, thank you for your word that makes me prosperous and successful. Help me to meditate on it day and night.

Lamp for your feet

[The Glory Unveiled]

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. [  Psalm 119:105 NIV ]

Paths and feet lead to places. Whenever we see a path, it indicates a place—a destination. And to get to these destinations, we have been given our feet, the vehicle that transports us from our starting point, through the path, to our desired end. But even when you have a clear path and a good pair of feet, without light you still might not reach your destination.

In this world, God’s Word is our light. Without this light, our paths become darkened, and our hope of reaching our destinations is shattered. Yet the truth is that this light is always available—if we choose to walk in its brilliance. We must deliberately choose to walk in the light of God’s Word if we want to arrive at God’s intended destination for humanity. The Word of God will light our path and our feet, but only if we first accept the One who gives the light. Without the Light-Giver, we cannot have the light for our path or for our feet. So stop wondering why your way seems dark when light has already been offered. Come to the Light-Giver, Jesus Christ, and receive His free gift that illuminates the path for everyone (see John 1:9).

Prayer_Bead: Heavenly Father, thank you for your light that guides my steps and my ways. Help me to remain in your light each passing day.

An example for you.

[The Glory Unveiled]

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. [ Acts 17:11 NIV ]

The apostle Paul was an itinerant minister—never tied to a single parish, always on the move between churches. Because of that urgency, when he did stand before a congregation he often poured out more truth than time seemed to allow. Think of Acts 20:7: Paul stayed until midnight, teaching with such intensity that a young man named Eutychus fell asleep and tumbled from a window. When the preacher speaks with that kind of overflow, it’s impossible to unpack and verify every scripture he quotes in a single sitting. That is exactly why the Bereans stand as a model for us. When Paul came to them they didn’t take his words at face value; they examined the Scriptures daily to see if what he taught was true (Acts 17:10–11). They were not passive consumers of sermon content — they were careful students of God’s Word. By contrast, many in Thessalonica and many of us today listen once and move on, assuming that hearing is the same as knowing. Beloved, listening is vital—but it is not enough. We must cultivate the discipline of the Bereans: review your notes, test the teaching, search the passages referenced, and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment. Let the Word sit under the light of Scripture so error is exposed and truth is confirmed. So don’t be satisfied with being merely entertained or informed. Be transformed. Cross-examine every sermon with Scripture and the Spirit, and receive only what stands the test of God’s own Word.

Prayer_Bead: Father, thank you for opening my understanding to the need to validate what I listen to with your word. Help me to eagerly examine the scriptures when I hear them.

Wisdom_Quote: Dont accept every scripture as truth until you have examined them with the Holy Spirit.

The Examiner

[The Glory Unveiled]

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [ 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV ]

The preacher of the gospel must embody the gospel they proclaim. When we speak of the Good News, our lives should be the first evidence that what we declare is true. Before we stand to deliver the Word of truth, we must first sit under it. Before we preach it, we must allow it to shape, cleanse, and transform us. We do not study Scripture merely to gather information or accumulate impressive knowledge. We study it to draw out the life within it—a life meant to influence us first. And when the Word has changed us, that change becomes the living testimony we carry into the world. People should be able to look at us and see the very message we preach shining through our attitudes, decisions, and character. This is why Scripture says we must “study to show ourselves approved unto God.” Not approved by people, not applauded by crowds, but approved by God—because the Word has so penetrated our hearts that we begin to resemble the very truth we proclaim. When the Word has worked deeply enough that we stand unashamed, irreproachable, and transformed, then and only then can we rightly divide and rightly deliver the Word of truth. So study. Study deeply. Study consistently. And above all, give the Word of God unrestricted access to your life. Let it do its work in you, so that through you, it may work in others.

Prayer_Bead: Father, have your way in me through your word. I withhold nothing from you henceforth. In Jesus name.

Wisdom_Quote: Before you preach to others, let the word preach to your life first.

Full of the Word

[The Glory Unveiled]

We can only give what we possess. When the clouds are full of water, they pour out rain. In the same way, the output of a life is always determined by its input. No one can give what they do not have. You cannot give a million dollars if a million dollars is not already in your possession. To give something—consistently and meaningfully—means you have it in abundance. That is why Scripture says, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” Whatever flows from our lips is simply the overflow of what our hearts are carrying. If the heart is full of fear, fear comes out. If it is full of bitterness, bitterness spills over. But if it is filled with the Word of God, then truth and life will flow. We are therefore instructed to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly, so that we may teach and admonish others. You cannot teach what you do not know. You cannot impart what you have not first received. This is why we must be filled—deeply, richly, continually—with the Word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to train, correct, and shape us from within. When the Word dwells richly in us, we become able to teach others with wisdom. We can minister through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We can release what we carry through whatever means God gives—because we are full. So allow the Word of God to saturate your heart. Do not stifle the Spirit who teaches you. Be teachable, be open, be filled—so that from the abundance within you, life can flow to others.

Prayer_Bead: Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me allow your word dwell richly in me.

Choose your path

[The Glory Unveiled]

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked… but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. [ Psalm 1:1–2 NIV ]

We are shaped—and often defined—by the company we keep. You can often predict a person’s direction, and even their downfall, simply by observing their associations. The truth is this: we are free to choose who we walk with, but we are not free to escape the consequences that come with those choices. God will not force us to walk with the righteous, yet when we do, the blessings that follow speak for themselves. Scripture gives us the surest guideline for guarding our steps: delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night. When the Word fills our thoughts, it begins to shape our choices. When we ponder Scripture continually, we are positioned to live by what it says. And as we meditate on the Word, grace is supplied to help us walk it out. But consistency in this lifestyle requires more than routine—it requires delight. We must hunger for God’s Word, thirst for its truth, and desire its instruction more than the world’s influence. Then the truth we embrace and meditate on will set us free—free from ungodly patterns, free from destructive associations, free from the lifestyle of the wicked.

Delight in the Word, and the Word will direct your steps.

Prayer_Bead: Holy Father, thank you for your word that guides me and directs the course of my life. Help me to delight in your word and meditate on it daily.

Trust the instructor

[The Glory Unveiled]

Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud. [ John 9:6 NIV ]

Sometimes, the most extraordinary miracles come wrapped in the most ordinary, even unsuspecting actions. Scripture is full of moments where simple instructions—sometimes even ridiculous ones—unlock supernatural results. Yet, the real hinge is almost always the same: obedience. Whenever men and women in the Bible dared to obey these unusual commands, something was triggered—almost like a spiritual law set in motion. And once obedience was activated, the outcome became inevitable. In obeying, they were not just following directions; they were stepping out in faith, doing what seemed unreasonable in expectation of a result only God could produce—and He did not disappoint. Consider Jesus healing the blind man with saliva and mud. That act was not a formula. It was not the only way nor even the usual way Jesus healed the blind. He had healed others without touching mud or spitting in the dirt. This shows us something profound: the power was never in the method. The miracle was not locked inside the mud—it was unlocked by the man’s obedience. The healing was beyond the action, yet for the one being healed, the healing was hidden in obeying the instruction. And so it is with us today. God may lead us through paths that feel unusual, uncomfortable, or even strange. He may nudge us toward actions that make no sense to the natural mind. But when we respond in faith—when we trust His voice above the oddness of the instruction—we declare that we know Him, we trust Him, and we believe Him. And that faith releases results. So when God speaks, don’t stumble over the method. Don’t let the “ridiculous” distract you. Trust His voice. Obey His instruction. The miracle is always on the other side of obedience.

Prayer_Bead: Lord Jesus, thank you for the way you minister to me and lead me. Help me to obey every instruction, trusting that you are faithful.
