If you believe

[The Glory Unveiled]

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” ( John 11:40 )

God is willing to display His glory in us and through us. The Scriptures say that His glory shall fill the whole world as the waters fills the oceans. So God truly seeks to have His glory spread over the world. In today’s verse of scripture, Jesus tells Martha after the death of Lazarus, that she could see (experience, manifest) the glory of God if she believes. It seems that faith is the currency of our Kingdom. There is no legal transaction in the kingdom without faith. Even though Jesus could do anything by the power of God, we can only see the powerful acts of God displayed through us by faith. A Scripture passage in the Old Testament (1 Kings 18:30-39) records that, Elijah called fire from heaven and the people believed God. These people hitherto seeing this powerful display of God’s power did not believe. Elijah was the only one who believed in God, and so, only he could display the glory of God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, for anyone who comes to God must believe that God exists and He rewards those who diligently seek Him”. Even though God does not discriminate in the kingdom, faith does. So the people could not manifest that power of God by themselves except they believe in God. And if we believe, we will see (manifest) the power of God.

Prayer_Bead: Omnipotent Father, Loving Lord, thank you for the word of God in my spirit. Thank you for faith at work through me to the glory of God. I believe!

You will understand later.

[The Glory Unveiled]

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” ( John 13:7 )

Most of the things going on in our lives at certain points in time are processes. They are not ends in themselves but a means to a glorious end. Some of the confusing situations and challenges that confront us are only processing the raw materials. Unfortunately we are quick to react like the apostle Peter in today’s passage. Instead of being still through the procedures of God, we end up questioning the purposes of God that we do not immediately understand. God sees the end from the beginning. This statement is enough to give us hope and the audacity to trust God irrespective of whatever we go through. Now, because God sees the end from the beginning, whatever He does is towards that end. The process that seem inconsistent with the end we envision is actually consistent with the end God designed for His glory through us. We may not realize what God is doing in us and through us while we are still in the production house of His gracious dealings, but at the time of our announcement, we will understand why we had to be subjected to the things we faced. You’re on course because God is leading you. Trust the process and trust God.

Prayer_Bead: Loving King, Gracious eternal Father, thank you for the works you are doing and the changes you are causing in me. In Jesus name, Amen.
