Purity is possible

“How can a young man stay pure? Only by living in the Word of God and walking in its truth.” [ Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭9‭TPT‬‬ ]

The world seems to provide many solutions or approaches to dealing with situations and problems in life. As a result we have developed this culture of “alternatives”. But when it comes to purity—our walk of holiness, the Bible prescribes only one solution—living in the word of God and walking in its truth. This is so precise and unambiguous. So that we can have the solution it suggests when we do exactly what the Bible says. The simplicity of this solution reinforces its weight and truth. Sometimes we begin our purity journey with hope and zeal but then after a few strides, we begin to retrogress even to the point of undoing all previous efforts. The reason why this happens is still because we do not remain living in the word of God. One can only stay pure for as long as they stay in the word of God and walk in its truth for it is the word that washes us (Ephesians 5:26). Walking in the truth of God’s word means intentionally applying the word to our everyday life; being obedient to the instructions from God’s word. There is no other way around this truth. Some of us have literally tried many things to stay on the path of purity but to no avail. Our fruitless attempts have convinced some of us to think that a walk in purity is impossible. But the truth is that, it is possible! The only stumbling reality is that we cannot create our own formula for purity. If we want to stay (remain) pure and not have relapses in our walk, we need to live in the word. We need to be governed by the word of God for every decision we make. And then we wouldn’t have to think of consciously living in purity anymore. It will just become a second nature.

Prayer_Bead: Holy Father, thank you for showing me the only way to living a life of purity. Help me to live in the word and to walk in its truth at all times. In Jesus’ name.

Hold tightly to it.

[The Glory Unveiled]

“But I come swiftly, so cling tightly to what you have, so that no one may seize your crown of victory.” [ Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬ ]

The words in this verse of the chapter in Revelation was spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. When we read the words carefully, we can hear another scripture from the gospel according to Matthew loudly; the parable of the ten virgins. “The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out. “No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ (Matthew 25:8-9). The wise virgins refused to give some of their oil to the foolish virgins who actually needed some oil. The “selfish” action of the wise virgins is recorded in our scripture in Revelation as “holding tightly or clinging tightly to what one has.” We will recall that at the time the wise virgins refused to give their oil to the foolish virgins was the moment when the Bridegroom was coming. That was a sensitive moment, a time that defined seasons so that if they missed it, that would have been the end. In Revelation, the Lord Jesus says He is coming swiftly and because of His coming, the church should hold tightly to what they have. So that no one will seize their crown of victory. If the wise virgins had given their oil to the foolish virgins, their lamps would have gone out and they would have lost their access to see the Bridegroom because of the foolish virgins. In these days of the Lord’s return, we need to keep diligently all the qualities we have in the Lord. No matter the persuasions of the world to borrow or take these qualities from us, we must not give in because giving in to the world means losing our crown. So, let’s cling tightly to what we have in the Lord.

Prayer_Bead: Dear Lord, thank you for reminding me of your swift coming and what I need to do as I wait for you. Help me to hold tightly to my values in you.

Go to Jesus first

GLORY NEWS BROADCAST.
[The Glory Unveiled].

Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” [ Matthew 4:19

The deceitfulness of the world and its vain culture has programmed us for fishing before taking a fishing class with Jesus. It was not so when the Master taught the first disciples. The initial principle was to first follow! Following preceded the practice of fishing. In fact, following is the practice of the art of fishing. It was in following the Lord Jesus that the early disciples learnt to fish for men. Unfortunately, the schemes and gimmicks of the world and corporate life has bullied many of us into believing that we have to create strategic means to lure people to Jesus. In the end, these people are brought in, not because they had seen the real Jesus and fell in love with Him. They are dragged in by their lustful appetite for what the fishermen advertised about their church or denominations. In the end, when their appetite change or when that appetite is satiated, there are no advents. All these schemes do not survive under the weight of the burden and need of the human soul. The real formula for success in the ministry of souls is first following the Lord Jesus Christ in absolute obedience. And then later, we will realize that lost souls are drawn to the message in our mouth that holds like hook. Salvation is by no other and in no other name than in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Genuine souls [fishes] will gather because of the Lord and not really because of anything else. Instead of going fishing first, let’s go to Jesus first, and then the fishes will be drawn to us.

Prayer_Bead: Lord of the Harvest, Author and Finisher of our faith, thank you showing me that I must come to you first. Help me to submit to this formula.

The perfect secret to success.

GLORY NEWS BROADCAST.
[The Glory Unveiled]

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. [ Joshua 1:8 NIV ]

God’s recipe for success is hidden in plain sight. Evidently, God’s word holds so many secrets to life and everything else there is out there. On the pages of the scriptures are the raw materials we need to have the kind of life we dream of. Here in our anchor verse of scripture, God shows us the shortcut to success—meditating on the word of God. This instruction is sure to produce the results it promised. Meditation is the vehicle for transformation. Meditation changes the heart and mind, and positions a person in the place of success. But what is meditation? We need to understand meditation because it is the gap between where we are and where we want to be. Meditation means to say out loud and to ponder over something until the substance within it is absorbed. It means to repeatedly say out loud while pondering until it can be said ad nauseam. At that point, our lives begin to radiant the reality of those words. And then we begin to do everything that the word is. Our lives becomes the evidence of that truth. Moses was in meditation in the mountain of God until his soul was so soaked in the glory of God that his flesh absorbed the radiance of God’s presence. So that when he came down from the mountain, his face shone with light. Meditating on the word of God must be the daily business of every believer. And then the transformation we seek will happen without us realizing it. The byproduct, prosperity and success, is at the mercies of daily meditation on the word of God. Say the scriptures out loud to yourself as if God was saying then to your spirit and your life will come into the light of its truth.

Prayer_Bead: Dear father-King, thank you for showing me the secret recipe for success and prosperity. As I practice these things, I thank you because my life will be the byproduct of its realities.

The constant focus of God’s delight.

GLORY NEWS BROADCAST.
[The Glory Unveiled]

“But while Peter was still speaking, a bright radiant cloud spread over them, enveloping them all. And God’s voice suddenly spoke from the cloud, saying, “This is my dearly loved Son, the constant focus of my delight. Listen to him!”” [ Matthew‬ ‭17‬: 5 TPT‬‬ ]

The Lord Jesus is the constant focus of God’s delight. In every generation; yesterday, today and tomorrow, the Lord Jesus remains the constant focus of God’s delight. On this auspicious occasion, [recorded in our text] God demonstrated that Jesus is always His focus. In that meeting, other personalities were in attendance but God had eyes for just One. This reinforces the truth that nothing can get God’s attention by going around Christ. No one can have anything that God offers without passing through Christ. While Peter was still speaking, the Father cut in. He will not let another share His glory;—Peter was talking about dividing the glory among the three personalities, Moses, Elijah and the Lord Jesus. And so the father came in to clarify things. The Father spoke and said, the Son is the constant focus of His delight. In other words, the only person who perfectly catches His attention is the Son. This is why we cannot please God by ourselves apart from Christ. And the reason why we are only saved when we hide in the Lord Jesus by faith. Nothing else brings delight to the father like the Son. We can only please the father in the Son. When we present ourselves to God through faith in His Son, then we too become His delight but apart from that, we cannot please Him. Nothing else replaces the Son to the father and so we cannot put anything or anyone else in place of the Son for our salvation and redemption. Not Moses, not Elijah and certainly not our pastor or prophet. If ever we want to be the delight of God, we must hide in the constant focus of His delight, His Son.

Prayer_Bead: Dear heavenly King, thank you for making me the focus of your delight because of your son.

Rehoboth

[The Glory Unveiled]

He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, [4] saying, “Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land.” [ Genesis 26:22 NIV ]

The believer’s walk with God in this world may be faced with many challenges, trials and confrontations from those who do not understand why we do what we do. But amidst all that the believer will face on their journey, we cannot relent nor quit. Perseverance makes a true believer. Isaac dug a well and people rose up against it. But he didn’t stop just because there were confrontations, instead the more he was confronted, the more well he dug. And through his perseverance, he left an indelible mark in that community and among his people. He named the well that was free from quarrels and aligations, Rehoboth meaning “God has given us room”. Imagine what would have happened if he stopped digging. He wouldn’t have come into the experience of that room (opportunity) that God would have given him. It would have seem like God didn’t give him room in that new land if he hadn’t persevered. The things we desire and are earnestly praying for may be lying behind the lines of perseverance and relentlessness. There is room for you in what you do but you will never know it until you persevere amidst challenges and confrontations. Don’t complain, don’t murmur if you have given up too soon. God is not to blame for not having a room to flourish and excel in your chosen field, if you cower at the least confrontations. Arm yourself with this understanding that you will face challenges if you want to leave a mark here on this side of reality. And that God is committed to giving you room to flourish.

Prayer_Bead: Our Father, thank you for the grace to flourish in this land of my calling. Help me to persevere amidst challenges and confrontations. In Jesus’ name.

The constraints of purpose.

[The Glory Unveiled]

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready. [ John 7:6 KJV ]

The purpose of God for our lives reaffirmed by the new life secured for us through Jesus has placed us in a place of intentionality and constraint. We cannot live our lives anyhow even if we wanted to–not in a bad way however. We have been brought into a new community where the will of God becomes our priority. We are governed by a new culture and constitution. The world can choose to go in any direction but we cannot. Our ways are dictated by God. And so, it happened that the household of Jesus were supposed to go to a ceremony–the feast of tabernacles. The other party encouraged Jesus to go at a certain time to which Jesus said the words of our anchor scripture. He was living every minute of His life by the dictates of His Father, whereas the people who were encouraging him to go were living as they pleased. Jesus had a strategic mandate and purpose and the responsibilities of that mandate constrained him to a certain life that others will not commit to. If we are living our lives within the margins of our calling and purposes,  we will also confine ourselves to the boundaries of God’s word. If for any reasons we were living like the other party that encouraged Jesus to go to the function, then may God help us to walk in alignment with our callings and purposes.

Prayer_Bead: Lord of Creation, thank you for the privilege to walk in step with your plans and purposes for me. My life and actions align to your calling upon me. I live a life constrained by the Holy Spirit.

Cross examine the package

And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. [ Genesis 24:21 KJV ]

Many times, many people miss their blessings not because they were not qualified for the blessing but because they could not properly discern the timing of God. Other times, they miss the blessing because they assume wrong. Even though God might have said something at one time does not make it a permanent mark in a stone. And for that, we need to constantly check on the last instruction. We need an updated version of what God said. The servant of Abraham was sent to find a wife for Isaac. He had prayed that God should answer him with a sign. Later when it seem he was answered because the sign came through, he didn’t immediately run for “the answer,” instead he held his peace to examine if what he was seeing was actually what God had sent. You see, we live in a world where counterfeits look like the real deal and so it is expedient that we discern and cross check the offers that are presented to us. Jacob ordered for Rachel but Leah was delivered to him unexpectedly. It may look exactly like what you ordered but it may not be what is delivered. This is why the Scriptures admonish us to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. We need the wisdom of God more than ever in our day. So, hold your peace and examine what you are being presented with.

Prayer_Bead: Almighty God, thank you for the privilege to be armed with your word. Help me to be discerning in all things as I walk in wisdom in this deceptive world.

Wisdom_Quote: What you ordered may not always be what is delivered.

Don’t go celebrating yet.

[The Glory Unveiled]

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. [ 1 Kings 18:41 KJV ]

Many times when we receive a prophetic word or any word of promise from God, we tend to be carried away by the euphoric feeling of it’s fulfillment. Instead of doing something that will bring that word into the tangible realm, most of us do nothing. Once we receive the word, we assume that ends everything. As a matter of fact, things do not work like that. When the word of God comes to us, it is initially in the intangible realm. But when we begin to war with the word, inviting the overshadowing power of God, it becomes tangible. When the prophetic word came to Ahab, that there was the sound of abundance of rain, there was nothing physical in that moment to support that claim. In the next verse it says, Ahab went to eat and drink, trusting that there would be abundant rain indeed. But come with me, on an imaginary journey to see what would have happened if there was no one to pray and ensure that the intangible word becomes real. Obviously, Ahab will celebrate what he was expecting but his eyes will not see it. The word of God came to pass not because Ahab celebrated but because Elijah went to pray. This shows us that, after the word has been received, the first thing to do is to carry the matter back to God in prayer. Pray and demand that what had gone out of the mouth of God will come to pass. And then when that is done, you can go ahead and celebrate it. Yes, the celebration is also important, it is an action of faith that says “I believe that I will have what I am celebrating”. So, before you do what Ahab did, do what Elijah did first. And then we will see the manifestation of every promise.

Prayer_Bead: Everlasting Father, faithful God, thank you for always being true to your word. Help me to pray your promises into manifestation in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wisdom_Quote.: Until it is settled on the mountain of prayer, it cannot be seen in the valley of manifestation.

What is your revelation of Jesus?

[The Glory Unveiled]

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [ Matthew 16:15-16 KJV]

We are at that point where another person’s revelation of God is not enough for our walk with God. Our spiritual experiences should not be shopped from the realities and testimonies of pastors and other men of God. Instead, it should be a report of our own experiences. Many people may have so much to say about who the Lord Jesus is. Many have their say on what it is to know the Lord. But after everything, it boils down to who he is to you as an individual. The Lord Jesus started his question from the general perspective; “who do men say I am?” And then after so many answers were given, he asked the disciples, “but who do you say I am?” You see, it is not about what others say because it is very easy to say what others are saying. Today, so many people are ‘microwaving’ the teachings and sermons of other ministers of the gospel as if it is their personal revelations of the word. It is because that approach is easy, plus it makes you appear before men as someone who had encountered the Lord intimately. But when it comes to the nitty gritty of that outward display, we will discover that it takes more than other people’s experiences to know the Lord. So, like Jesus asked his disciples many years ago, we are also asked, “who is Jesus to you?”

Prayer_Bead: Dear Holy Father, thank you for your love and commitment to always help me to be like Jesus. Take me on a transformational journey to discover Jesus for myself. So help me God.
