You will understand later.

[The Glory Unveiled]

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” ( John 13:7 )

Most of the things going on in our lives at certain points in time are processes. They are not ends in themselves but a means to a glorious end. Some of the confusing situations and challenges that confront us are only processing the raw materials. Unfortunately we are quick to react like the apostle Peter in today’s passage. Instead of being still through the procedures of God, we end up questioning the purposes of God that we do not immediately understand. God sees the end from the beginning. This statement is enough to give us hope and the audacity to trust God irrespective of whatever we go through. Now, because God sees the end from the beginning, whatever He does is towards that end. The process that seem inconsistent with the end we envision is actually consistent with the end God designed for His glory through us. We may not realize what God is doing in us and through us while we are still in the production house of His gracious dealings, but at the time of our announcement, we will understand why we had to be subjected to the things we faced. You’re on course because God is leading you. Trust the process and trust God.

Prayer_Bead: Loving King, Gracious eternal Father, thank you for the works you are doing and the changes you are causing in me. In Jesus name, Amen.

The heir must grow

[The Glory Unveiled]

What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. ( Galatians 4:1 )

The heir, as the newly born again into the family of God, is shown what the full estate or inheritance is. The father makes known to him/her what is in store for him/her. They are made to “taste that glory”. The heir is made to taste what awaits him in a larger proportion and quantity. When Nathaniel first met Jesus, he had the opportunity to see (taste) this glorious inheritance that was awaiting his coming of age as an heir. So Jesus told him, “you will see greater things than that” (John 1:50). Nathaniel had just been introduced to the family of God by Philip, he was becoming an heir. And then Jesus showed him just a glimpse of what was in the kingdom where he was coming into. But the heir, though everything is potentially his/hers, they are just as powerless as slaves because they do not understand legalities. They do not understand matters of ordination and transfer. So, even though everything is legally theirs, they cannot claim them nor advance their kingdom agenda by their inheritance. The heir must grow to take advantage of the vast opportunities and favours. We must get to know the father and His kingdom more through the Holy Spirit.

Prayer_Bead: Father in Heaven, Glory and honour belongs to you. Thank you for calling me into you. Teach me to advance your kingdom by the Spirit of Your word.

Incubate the Word

[The Glory Unveiled]

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. ( Joshua 1:8 )

The New Testament revelation of this scripture reads, “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks”. God was instructing Joshua after the departure of Moses to keep His words (the Law) on his lips. It also says so that he may be careful to do everything written in it. But then when we look carefully at that scripture, in line with the New Testament revelation, we will see that word “meditate” as the pivot of the supernatural machinery of God made available to man. Before Joshua or we could keep the word of God continually on our lips or obey them, we must first meditate on it. Meditating on the word means incubating it in our spirit. We take up the word into our spirit through the gate of our hearts. We think about it as we allow the Holy Spirit to open it up to us. And then that word remains not only on our lips but in us (like the glory of God on Moses)—-as we begin to do everything written in the word by the enabling of the Holy Spirit who teaches all things even the deep things of God. May the word of God not depart from our hearts.

Prayer_Bead: The word made flesh, Lover of my soul, thank you for giving me your Spirit and the opportunity to know you more.

Go to the source not the resource

[The Glory Unveiled]

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. ( John 5:39 )

The biggest error of our time is that we study the scriptures without Christ. We try to find only what the scriptures promise we can have but we do not seem to want to come to Christ. In other words, we seek for the things of Christ without associating with Christ Himself. The verdict announced in John 3:19 sums it all up; a great light has come into the world but men love darkness more than light. Eternal life is not in the literary texts that make the scriptures, remember the letter kills but it is only the Spirit that gives life (2 Corinthians3:6). We cannot have eternal life without the eternal Spirit of Christ revealed to us by Christ. We will discover as soon as we look into the scriptures that they are testifying of Christ. And Christ gives life; for He who has the son has life (1 John 5:12). Let us quit searching the scriptures for eternal life without Christ, it will amount to vexatious labour without results. It is only by partnership with the Spirit of Christ does the scriptures transform us, enlighten us and shows us things we need to know. May we from hence look for Jesus in His testimonies and not just for His testimonies.

Prayer_Bead: Awesome God, Holy King eternal, most Gracious Monarch, thank you for Christ Jesus revealed to me by your Spirit through your Word.

The strategy of God

[The Glory Unveiled]

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. ( 2 Corinthians 5:21 )

The love of God and the wisdom of God seem to be woven together. In that, the love of God validates the wisdom of God. It is as if we would not have known the wisdom of God without the love of God. In this verse of scripture, we see a beautiful interplay of His love and wisdom. The wisdom of God hid His love in what the common mind cannot discern nor come to terms with. So that the love of God through the wisdom of God swallowed up our sin and gave us the righteousness of God which is His love (Jesus). Jesus is the strategy of God for the redemption of man. God is love, and so He could not allow the kingdom of darkness and the agents of satan touch us. He created a form of ark so that we can hide in Christ in God. We are safe, and free in Christ from the tag (sin) of satan. Let us abide in Christ, for in Him we have our true identity and life.

Prayer_Bead: Precious Lord, Spirit Divine, thank you for what you have done in me through Christ. Thank you for your Wisdom is at work in me to the glory of Your name.
