Incubate the Word

[The Glory Unveiled]

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. ( Joshua 1:8 )

The New Testament revelation of this scripture reads, “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks”. God was instructing Joshua after the departure of Moses to keep His words (the Law) on his lips. It also says so that he may be careful to do everything written in it. But then when we look carefully at that scripture, in line with the New Testament revelation, we will see that word “meditate” as the pivot of the supernatural machinery of God made available to man. Before Joshua or we could keep the word of God continually on our lips or obey them, we must first meditate on it. Meditating on the word means incubating it in our spirit. We take up the word into our spirit through the gate of our hearts. We think about it as we allow the Holy Spirit to open it up to us. And then that word remains not only on our lips but in us (like the glory of God on Moses)—-as we begin to do everything written in the word by the enabling of the Holy Spirit who teaches all things even the deep things of God. May the word of God not depart from our hearts.

Prayer_Bead: The word made flesh, Lover of my soul, thank you for giving me your Spirit and the opportunity to know you more.
