The heir must grow

[The Glory Unveiled]

What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. ( Galatians 4:1 )

The heir, as the newly born again into the family of God, is shown what the full estate or inheritance is. The father makes known to him/her what is in store for him/her. They are made to “taste that glory”. The heir is made to taste what awaits him in a larger proportion and quantity. When Nathaniel first met Jesus, he had the opportunity to see (taste) this glorious inheritance that was awaiting his coming of age as an heir. So Jesus told him, “you will see greater things than that” (John 1:50). Nathaniel had just been introduced to the family of God by Philip, he was becoming an heir. And then Jesus showed him just a glimpse of what was in the kingdom where he was coming into. But the heir, though everything is potentially his/hers, they are just as powerless as slaves because they do not understand legalities. They do not understand matters of ordination and transfer. So, even though everything is legally theirs, they cannot claim them nor advance their kingdom agenda by their inheritance. The heir must grow to take advantage of the vast opportunities and favours. We must get to know the father and His kingdom more through the Holy Spirit.
