[The Glory Unveiled]
Do everything in love. [ 1 Corinthians 16:14 NIV ]
The apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 13 speaks at length about Love. He describes it as being enduring, patient, kind, does not envy, is not arrogant. He also says love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. He explains that having everything without love is a waste. And then in the last verse of that chapter, he says faith, hope and love abide, but love is the greatest. That is such a strong statement to make for a conclusion. In a world where everyone is after their our gains, the subject of love becomes less popular by the day. Yet, as believers, we are called into a life of love. Our anchor text says we should do everything in love. This means love must become our ecosystem, the environment in which we live, move and grow. To do everything in love means we cannot do anything outside love. This means our life and living must be dictated by the voice of love. Love’s principles must be our walking aide, to guide and direct us in the right course of action in every situation. To do everything in love also means to live, guided by the guidelines in 1 Corinthians 13; doing everything as Christ would, for the benefit of others, to the glory of God.
Prayer_Bead: Lord Jesus, thank you for demonstrating with your life what love is. Help me to do everything in love as you did.
