[The Glory Unveiled]
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. [ Acts 10:44 NKJV ]
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one. They are inseparable in their divine essence and nature. This is why, when Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus answered, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” In seeing the Son, Philip was seeing the Father because the Son perfectly reveals the Father. For this reason, wherever the Son is, the Holy Spirit is also present. And because Jesus, the Son, is the Word of God who became flesh, we can understand that wherever the Word of God is truly present and received, the Holy Spirit is at work. This means that an environment can be conditioned to accommodate the activity of the Holy Spirit when it is pumped and saturated with the Word of God. The Word creates an atmosphere in which the Spirit can move, teach, convict, reveal, and transform. This is why we repeatedly see the Holy Spirit manifesting Himself in places where the Word was being preached and taught. In our anchor text, while Peter was speaking to the people concerning the Word of God, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the message. The Word was being spoken, and the Spirit was at work. The atmosphere was saturated with the Word, and the Spirit responded. Therefore, be a student of the Word. Fill your heart, your mind, and your environment with the Word of God. When you give yourself continually to the Word, you create an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit can teach, lead, and transform you.
