[The Glory Unveiled]
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [ 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV ]
The preacher of the gospel must embody the gospel they proclaim. When we speak of the Good News, our lives should be the first evidence that what we declare is true. Before we stand to deliver the Word of truth, we must first sit under it. Before we preach it, we must allow it to shape, cleanse, and transform us. We do not study Scripture merely to gather information or accumulate impressive knowledge. We study it to draw out the life within it—a life meant to influence us first. And when the Word has changed us, that change becomes the living testimony we carry into the world. People should be able to look at us and see the very message we preach shining through our attitudes, decisions, and character. This is why Scripture says we must “study to show ourselves approved unto God.” Not approved by people, not applauded by crowds, but approved by God—because the Word has so penetrated our hearts that we begin to resemble the very truth we proclaim. When the Word has worked deeply enough that we stand unashamed, irreproachable, and transformed, then and only then can we rightly divide and rightly deliver the Word of truth. So study. Study deeply. Study consistently. And above all, give the Word of God unrestricted access to your life. Let it do its work in you, so that through you, it may work in others.
Prayer_Bead: Father, have your way in me through your word. I withhold nothing from you henceforth. In Jesus name.
Wisdom_Quote: Before you preach to others, let the word preach to your life first.
