[The Glory Unveiled]
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? [ Psalms 139:7 NKJV ]
The men and women whose names echo through generations are often those whose lives were governed by divine boundaries. They lived within the confines of God’s instructions rather than the impulses of their desires. Balaam expressed this principle clearly when he said, “Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more” (Numbers 22:18). His life was confined by the Word of God. God’s Word determined the limits of his actions—how far he could go and where he had to stop. The same principle is seen in the life of Ruth. In Ruth 2:8, Boaz gave her a specific field in which to glean. Ruth accepted that boundary and remained within it. What seemed like a simple restriction became the pathway to divine favour, and the woman who stayed within the appointed field eventually became Mrs. Boaz. Her limitation became the doorway to blessing. Godly structures protect us from chaos and disorder. They preserve us from wandering and often place into our hands blessings we could never have imagined attaining by our own wisdom. Boundaries are not barriers to destiny; they are the pathways through which destiny is secured. David also lived with this consciousness. He confined his life to the presence of God and remained deeply aware that he could never escape the eyes of the Lord. This awareness became a holy boundary that regulated his life, guided his decisions, and restrained him from paths that would lead to destruction. Divine boundaries are not prisons; they are instruments of preservation. Those who willingly live within the limits set by God often discover that what seems restrictive today becomes the very means by which God leads them into His highest purposes.
