The purpose of His salvation

[The Glory Unveiled]

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. [ Galatians 5:1 NIV ]

The purpose for which Christ set us free is that we might remain free. Freedom in Christ was never intended to be a temporary experience but a permanent reality. Yet Scripture makes it clear that even after being set free, we still have a responsibility. We have the power either to stand in that freedom or to become entangled again in the very slavery from which Christ delivered us. This is why Paul exhorts believers to “stand firm” and refuse to be burdened again by the yoke of bondage. The fact that we are commanded to stand firm means we have been given the ability to resist every attempt of the enemy to draw us back into our former captivity. Christ has brought us out, but we must refuse to go back. Standing firm means confronting the lies of the devil with the truth of Christ. However, we cannot effectively oppose deception unless we possess the truth. And not merely as information stored in our minds, but as a reality deeply established in our lives through experience and conviction. When the truth becomes more than doctrine—when it becomes our identity, our perspective, and our daily reality—the enemy’s lies lose their power. They slide off our lives like water off a duck’s feathers. Deception cannot take root where truth has been fully embraced. Jesus purchased our freedom with His own life; now we must preserve that freedom through deliberate alignment with His truth. The choice is ours. We can invest ourselves in learning, knowing, and walking in the truth that makes us immune to the schemes of the enemy. As that truth takes hold of us, the yoke of slavery loses its grip, and we continue to walk in the liberty Christ secured for us. Freedom was purchased by Christ, but it is sustained by steadfastness in His truth.
